Cocktails for "The Kate"!

It was a gorgeous Thursday evening and the sun was out in all it's glory after what seemed like a month of rain. At The Back Porch Restaurant in Old Saybrook, people gathered from far and wide for the charity event of the season - "Cocktails for The Kate" in honor of the imminent opening of The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in August. The evening included a Fashion Show featuring summer designs from Azul Fine Clothing, gorgeous jewelry from Angie's Jewelry & Gifts, and The Back Porch's "African Queen-tini" cocktails made with spirits generously donated by Kevin Labombard of CDI Wine & Spirits.

Among the attendees, is Gail Whitright
and her mother Dora (90 years young),

who used to play tennis with Katharine Hepburn's sister.
